To be properly understood you must make sure that you are precise in some important areas. Avoid anything that unnecessarily distracts the reader’s attention from your message. If readers have to keep re-reading some sections of an article in order to work out what it means they are being distracted from the message.

To be successful a newsletter needs to contain lots of meaningful content. This doesn’t mean words of wisdom or correct grammar (these certainly help, of course) but content that the reader finds meaningful. The more you know about the reader, the easier it is to determine what content is meaningful.
